If you’ve been charged with the job of planning your sister or best friend’s hen party, you’re probably anxious about getting it right and keeping an entire bride tribe happy at the same time. Every maid of honor wants to give the blushing bride the hen of her dreams, and one way to pull off this mission is to embrace the art of personalization.
If you’re in the midst of putting together the weekend to end all weekends, here are some tips to make your celebration as personal as possible.
As a bride, you have a million things on your to do list before walking down the aisle. One of the things that should be fun is creating gift bags for your bridesmaids. Obviously you couldn’t imagine your wedding day without them, so you’ll want to find perfect items to show your appreciation.
Well there’s always booze (champagne, yay!), jewelry, and gift cards. However, we’re here to help you create the Ultimate Bridesmaid Gift Bag, and it takes some really special gifts to make our list.
The most important part of creating the perfect gift bag is to make sure it’s something your bridesmaids will want to use again and again. Gifts that will remind them of the joy of your wedding, long after the day is gone.

As most of you following along know, my sister got married last year. Along with this joyous occasion came the traditional celebrations of a bridal shower and a bachelorette party. I’ve mentioned before that planning these things was a bit chaotic with the bridesmaids living in different states and countries. When we planned the bridal shower, we split the duties up between the bridesmaids and the bride’s mother. It was an all around success!
When it came time to plan the bachelorette party, we decided to host it in Atlantic City since the majority of people lived within an hour of that location. Of course I asked for input from the other bridesmaids, but ultimately I wanted to be the lead decision maker so we could move forward in a timely fashion.
Well my friends, we had an amazing time with the 16 people who were in attendance. However, I learned a few lessons the hard way when trying to organize that many people, and would definitely do a few things different if given the chance. So to help you avoid some bachelorette party pitfalls, I’d like to share with you some do’s and dont’s for planning a weekend long trip. First up…

The best part is, you can be as simple or elaborate as you want when deciding your decor for the bar setup. Our personal favorite is this gold foil print, “pour one more” from StaceyHolbrookDesign.
