Lindsay’s bridal shower may not have been a surprise, but there were many details that were, making it a day to remember. The shower was held at the bride’s favorite lunch spot, The Beanery in Point Pleasant, NJ and the bridesmaids used the location as inspiration to create a coffee shop themed shower.
Lindsay admits having it in a place she loved so much was a nice touch! All of the games and activities were a surprise, but the biggest surprise of all was that her future mother-in-law had come in from England to be a part of the shower!
My (then) fiancé is from England so all of his family and friends are there so it was wonderful for her to come over and be here for such a special day. Because of his family and friends being in England, the shower itself was a little smaller than most, but it was so nice to have quality time with the most special women in my life! Also, it was interesting for my mother-in-law to see a shower as they don’t really throw showers in England.
Another part of the day that the bride enjoyed was having her mom’s homemade desserts at the shower.
My mom’s a wonderful baker and it made the day even more fun and personalized for me realizing she had made the desserts.
Bridesmaid Tip: have a “display shower” with the gifts.
Something my bridesmaids did a little differently was having a “display shower”. They requested that guests leave gifts unwrapped, that way I didn’t have to open all the gifts. I was able to mingle and spend more time with the guests!
Thank you Lindsay for sharing the details of your bridal shower with us! Your bridal party did an amazing job personalizing this day for you and created a truly unique and beautiful shower.
